FAQ
Trading on the Internet is nothing new. Books, travel and insurance are already sold in great quantities online. Farms often apply for funding online by email. There are also some websites that serve specific areas of agricultural trade. None have been a success. And this has probably been for the following reasons.
The structure of the existing websites is limited. They are often restricted to regional trading because of language barriers. Secure trading is lacking, therefore agricultural producers and dealers are unwilling to conduct business with new, untried partners.
Also, it is not possible to carry out all transactions on these portals. Some of the websites are just a shop while others offer auctions or the possibility to invite only bids for the goods you need. Often, such specific categories like machinery are excluded.
Until recently, farmers have not been willing to trade intensively on the Internet. Stable prices and markets meant that they could rely on the conventional methods of trading. Only now is the Internet being regarded as an important medium for agricultural information and trade.
Another reason for not using the existing Internet sites is the cost – even before trading takes place. Membership fees, listing fees and trading fees may apply, even when you do not buy or sell anything.
We recognised these problems before developing gruuna. With the help of experienced farmers and traders, we carefully created gruuna, the all-in-one agricultural trading website. We focused on international as well as regional trading and included no fixed costs and an easy-to-use sophisticated security concept.
gruuna is launched in the Summer of 2010 and here are ten reasons why gruuna will revolutionise the agricultural market.
Gruuna is definitely THE place to be for any farm that buys or sells. Even small farms are considered to be agricultural enterprises. They can register on gruuna and then begin trading. You canalso save money with a small trading volume on gruuna because through our market you have access to a greater number of traders. There are no restrictions on products you can offer for sale – for example tea and soap.
Yes. As a member of a buying group, you are exactly on the right track. If you and your buying group invite tenders on gruuna, you can buy even more cheaply because dealers are under-bidding each other.
Yes. As a producer group you can offer your products for sale on gruuna free of charge and get the best prices possible. If your buying group invites bids for the goods you need on gruuna, you can buy even more cheaply.
In our business terms, we point out that private individuals are not eligible to trade on gruuna. But on gruuna, anyone who has an agricultural enterprise can trade. Even small farmers can register on gruuna and use our online agricultural market.
Only those who trade with a credit card are authorised to buy immediately on gruuna. Any bank reference will be verified by us. gruuna pay one cent into the account and sends a code. Only someone who knows this code actually has access to the account and can register.
When you invite bids for your oil needs, you can also stipulate that the dealer must also dispose of the waste oil. On gruuna, you decide the trading terms for a tender and each bidder must comply with this. If you do not invite bids for the goods you need, but buy directly from a dealer, you must ask first if he also disposes of the waste oil. Via gruuna you can contact each seller before the sale to resolve these issues.
Send us your questions via the contact form and we will respond to you as soon as possible.
