Cow dung in the post

Even cow dung is a money-maker on the internet! In Europe, farmers mostly use their cow dung as fertilizer or in biogas plants. But a French farmer has found an entirely different way of recycling it. He sells dung in his own online shop.

I found this website at the best-practice-business-Blog. Olivier Legrand has created the character “Dung King” Roger Cambotte. On his website you can order nice looking little wooden boxes, containing 100 grams of cow dung, for a bargain price of €8,50. For an additional €5,50 they will be shipped freshly wrapped – the best “present” for a boss who always steals your parking spot or the “last message” for an unwanted lover. And if that is not enough you can also order the king-size version with even more dung.

You can buy t-shirts with a laughing cow logo at www.fumier.com . The French country music Dung Song, which is constantly repeated on the website, can be downloaded for a small charge.

With his homepage, Legrand has reached celebrity status in France. Even the respected newspaper Le Monde has written about him. The best-practice-business-blog explains how the cow farmer wants to conquer the European market and his website is currently being translated into English for that reason.

If you have more than enough cow dung at your farm you could try to muscle in on the british market before he does. That is if you believe in the old saying that you can make money out of anything!
